Feedback Journey for consultants
Feedback Journey is a client-feedback tool for IT consultants working inside a client's organization. You invite the people around you to score four fixed questions, and you see how your work actually lands. The scores follow you from one assignment to the next, so you can show a client what other clients thought.
Why do consultants need documented feedback?
A consultant walks into a new organization and is expected to deliver straight away. New systems, new routines, new people. The demands are high and the signals are weak, because nobody is paid to tell you how you are doing. Documented feedback closes that gap. It turns a vague sense of “this is going fine” into something you can read, compare and act on.
Who should you ask for feedback?
Ask broadly, not just upwards. The best picture comes from people at every point in the value chain around you.
- The people above you, who judge the delivery against what was promised.
- The people beside you, who see how you work in a team every day.
- The people downstream of you, who live with what you built.
Not everyone will answer. That is fine. Together the replies still give you a solid base for reflection, and you can go back to anyone who answered and ask them to say more.
What does Feedback Journey measure?
A long-term survey scores four categories: professional competence, knowledge sharing, contribution to the working environment, and collaboration. We believe those four cover the essence of the consultant role. They will not give you a complete picture of everything you do. They will tell you how you perform in a real environment, and where your next improvement goal should sit.
Does this replace talking to people?
No, and it should not. Specific, useful feedback still comes out of conversation. Use the survey to find the pattern, then have the conversation about the detail. Set your improvement goals together with the people who gave you the scores.
